Credit cards with hotel benefit programs

Programs booked through the issuer's travel site

Fine Hotels + Resorts bookings through American Express Travel with a Platinum Card include daily breakfast for two, a $100 credit toward eligible charges, guaranteed 4pm checkout, 12pm check-in when available, a room upgrade when available and Wi-Fi ⁠¹. The Hotel Collection, listed for the Gold and Platinum, needs at least two consecutive nights and adds a $100 credit, 4pm late check-out, 12pm check-in and an upgrade, the last three when available ⁠⁵⁠¹. The Platinum also has a separate hotel credit of up to $300 semi-annually, $600 per calendar year, for prepaid bookings in either program ⁠¹.

Chase lists The Edit for the Sapphire Reserve: a $100 property credit, daily breakfast for two, Wi-Fi, a room upgrade and early check-in or late check-out, some subject to availability and varying by property ⁠⁶. Starting 1/1/2026, Chase adds a statement credit of up to $250 per prepaid Pay Now stay of 2 nights or more, up to $500 per calendar year ⁠⁶. Capital One gives Venture X Premier Collection bookings a $100 experience credit with breakfast for two, and Lifestyle Collection bookings a $50 experience credit, which is also listed for the Venture ⁠⁷⁠⁸. Citi's The Reserve gives Strata Elite and Strata Premier cardmembers a $100 experience credit, breakfast for two, Wi-Fi, and an upgrade and early or late check-out on availability ⁠⁹⁠¹⁰.

Visa hotel collections

Wells Fargo's guides for the Active Cash, Autograph and Autograph Journey list Visa Signature Luxury Hotel Collection benefits when the stay is booked on a Visa Luxury Hotel Collection site or through Visa Concierge: a best available rate guarantee, an upgrade on arrival and Wi-Fi when available, breakfast for two, a $25 food or beverage credit, VIP guest status and late check-out on request ⁠²⁠⁴⁠¹¹. U.S. Bank's Benefits Center lists the same collection for the Altitude Connect, Altitude Go, Cash+ and Smartly, naming VIP status, breakfast for two and an upgrade when available ⁠¹²⁠¹³⁠³⁠¹⁴. Bank of America lists the Visa Infinite Luxury Hotel Collection for the Premium Rewards Elite and the Visa Signature Luxury Hotel Collection for the Premium Rewards ⁠¹⁵⁠¹⁶.

Conditions to check before booking

Each program names the channel the stay must be booked through. Capital One requires the booking to be made through Capital One Travel in the cardholder's name with the cardholder traveling, applies benefits per room per stay and says minimum nights may apply ⁠⁷. Citi requires choosing a rate offered by The Reserve at check-out on Citi Travel ⁠⁹⁠¹⁰. Wells Fargo's guides say resort fees that cover benefits are not reimbursable ⁠². Upgrades are offered only when available in the Amex, Chase, Capital One and Citi programs and in Wells Fargo's Visa collection listing, while Amex describes the 4pm checkout at Fine Hotels + Resorts as guaranteed ⁠¹⁠⁶⁠⁷⁠⁹⁠².
