What to know about the Platinum
The 5X rate on flights applies to up to $500,000 in those charges per calendar year, and charter flights and flights sold as part of tours or packages are excluded 2. Cruises booked through American Express Travel earn 2X, but payments made directly to a cruise line do not qualify; other eligible purchases earn 1X 2.
The hotel credit pays up to $300 in each half of the year on prepaid Fine Hotels + Resorts or The Hotel Collection bookings, the Resy credit up to $100 per quarter, the lululemon credit up to $75 per quarter and the digital entertainment credit up to $25 per month 2. The airline fee, Resy, lululemon, digital entertainment, Equinox and Oura Ring credits require enrollment, and the airline credit covers incidental fees from one selected airline only 2. Uber Cash arrives as $15 a month plus $20 in December, and unused monthly Uber Cash does not carry over 2. The Walmart+ credit covers one monthly membership fee of up to $12.95 plus taxes each month, while annual Walmart+ memberships do not qualify 2.
Delta Sky Club access is limited to 10 Visits per card each year on same-day Delta flights, and Centurion Lounge guests cost $50 each unless the account spends $75,000 in a calendar year 2. The terms state that Lufthansa lounge access ran through September 30, 2026 and ended on October 1, 2026 2.
American Express's guides list secondary car rental coverage of up to $75,000 per rental agreement and trip delay coverage of up to $500 per trip once a delay passes 6 hours 48. Cell phone protection pays up to $800 per claim after a $50 deductible, and it applies only when the monthly phone bill is charged to the card 12.
