What to know about U.S. Bank cards

The catalog groups the Altitude Go Secured, Cash+ Secured and Secured Visa as credit-building cards, also called secured cards 1. The Altitude Go and Cash+ each have a secured counterpart that lists the same earning rates as the unsecured card 1. Among the unsecured cards, the Smartly earns unlimited 2% cash back with higher tiers for Smartly deposit customers, Altitude Go and Altitude Connect earn points, Cash+ earns cash back in chosen categories, and the Shield card's listed reward is 4% cash back on prepaid air, hotel and car reservations booked in the Travel Center 1.

Cash+ uses the U.S. Bank Cash+ program, in which cardholders choose their 5% and 2% categories each quarter 4. Real-Time Rewards, offered on several U.S. Bank cards, lets an enrolled cardholder reply REDEEM to a text after a purchase and apply rewards to it as a statement credit, but only when the balance covers the entire purchase 1. U.S. Bank Smart Rewards is a separate relationship program that adds perks such as cash-back deals for customers with a Smartly Checking account and a U.S. Bank credit card 1.

Card benefits are found through usbank.com/credit-cards/benefits.html, where each card has a View card benefits link to its page in the U.S. Bank Benefits Center 2. Only the Altitude Connect and Shield cards have card-specific Guides to Benefits; the Smartly, Altitude Go and Cash+ link the general Visa Signature guide, and the secured cards link only the Roadside Dispatch guide 678101112139. Each guide names its own Benefit Administrator numbers, such as 1-800-397-9010 in the Visa Signature guide and 1-800-992-6029 for Travel and Emergency Assistance 5.

Many older cards appear on the same benefits page as no longer accepting new applications, including the Altitude Reserve Visa Infinite, the Altitude Go World Elite Mastercard, the Shopper Cash Rewards Visa Signature, the Visa Platinum and an earlier version of the Smartly card for applications made before 4/14/25 2. Each of them still has a View card benefits link there for existing cardholders 2. U.S. Bank's partner cards listed on its co-branded page are the Harley-Davidson and Korean Air SKYPASS cards 3.
