What to know about Bank of America cards

The catalog at bankofamerica.com/credit-cards lists the six own-brand cards alongside co-branded airline and cruise cards, for Alaska Airlines, Air France KLM, Allegiant, Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal ONE, and a Susan G. Komen charity card ⁠². This site covers the own-brand cards and their student and secured versions, which share the parent card's rewards and are shown on the parent card's page ⁠².

Each rewards card runs its own program, with Program Rules mailed at account opening and available through the rewards redemption site in Online Banking ⁠⁵. On top of those programs sits BofA Rewards, which took the place of Preferred Rewards on or about May 26, 2026; enrolled Preferred Rewards members were moved over automatically, and enrollment opened May 27, 2026 ⁠⁹. Members with an eligible checking account receive a bonus on eligible cards of 10% at the Member tier, 25% at Preferred Plus, 50% at Preferred Honors and 75% at Premier, with tiers set by combined deposit and Merrill balances of no minimum, $30,000, $100,000 and $1,000,000 ⁠⁴. That bonus replaces any 10% customer bonus a card earns, and cardholders who enrolled in Preferred Rewards before May 26, 2026 may be eligible for an extended card benefit ⁠⁴⁠⁵.

For benefit terms, Bank of America's card terms say that certain restrictions apply to each benefit and that details accompany new account materials ⁠⁶. Summary benefit pages are published for Premium Rewards and Premium Rewards Elite, and they repeat that details come with the new account materials; neither page gives a benefit administrator phone number or claims website, so the documents that arrive with the card are where claim instructions are found ⁠⁸⁠¹⁰.

Application terms state that a card may not be available to someone who has it or has had it in the preceding 24 months ⁠⁶. The credit card program is issued and administered by Bank of America, N.A. ⁠⁶. Sample credit card agreements, including those for partner and affinity cards, are published on a separate page ⁠³.
