What to know about the Sapphire Preferred

The 5x rate covers only purchases made through Chase Travel; bookings through FROSCH by Chase Travel, Valerie Wilson Travel by Chase Travel or Frosch International Travel LLC earn 2x like other travel 1. The streaming and vacation-home bonuses apply only to the services and brands listed at chase.com/RewardsCategoryFAQs, and online grocery excludes Target, Walmart and wholesale clubs 1. Two promotions run on fixed dates: Lyft rides earn 5x total through September 30, 2027, and Peloton equipment and accessory purchases over $150 earn 5x total on up to $5,000 in purchases through December 31, 2027 1.

Points are worth 1 cent each for cash, gift cards and travel, and Chase's Points Boost disclosure says 100 points can be worth up to $1.50 on select flights and hotels booked through Chase Travel with this card 45. Points can move to another Ultimate Rewards card held by the cardholder or one household member, or go to airline and hotel programs in 1,000-point increments, and they do not expire while the account is open 4.

The hotel credit is applied automatically to hotel stays bought through Chase Travel, up to $100 each account anniversary year, and that first $100 of Chase Travel hotel spending earns no points 1. A separate credit of up to $120 every four years reimburses a Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS application fee charged to the card 1.

Chase's guide makes the rental coverage primary in and outside the U.S. when the full rental is charged to the card and the rental company's collision cover is declined, for rentals of up to 31 days; for New York residents with personal auto insurance it is excess inside the U.S. 3. Trip delay starts after 12 hours or an overnight stay, and emergency evacuation applies only to trips of 5 to 60 days more than 100 miles from home 3. Roadside dispatch is pay-per-use, with fees billed to the card 1.
