The Chase Freedom Flex Credit Card has no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee ⁠2. What to know about the Freedom Flex

The quarterly 5% rate has to be activated each quarter by the deadline, and once $1,500 in combined category purchases is reached the rate drops to 1% for the rest of that quarter ⁠1. The categories rotate quarterly, so the bonus is worth most to cardholders whose spending happens to match them ⁠1. Lyft purchases made in the Lyft app earn 2% total through 9/30/2027 ⁠1.

Cash back is tracked as points, 100 to the dollar, with no minimum to redeem and no expiry while the account is open ⁠4⁠1. Paying with points at Amazon or through PayPal values each point at $0.008 instead of 1 cent ⁠1.

Phone protection requires charging the entire monthly wireless bill to the card for the billing cycle before the month of the loss, and pays up to $800 per claim after a $50 deductible, limited to 2 paid claims and $1,000 per 12 months ⁠3. The product page does not list this benefit; it appears in the Guide to Benefits linked from that page ⁠1⁠3. Rental car coverage up to $60,000 is secondary in the U.S. unless the renter has no personal auto insurance, and primary abroad ⁠3. Trip cancellation covers non-refundable passenger fares up to $1,500 per traveler and $6,000 per trip, and roadside help is pay-per-use at a pre-negotiated fee ⁠1⁠3. Six months of complimentary DashPass turns into a paid monthly membership unless cancelled ⁠1.
