What to know about the Freedom Rise
Applicants who have never had a credit card, including as an authorized user, can improve their chances of approval by holding at least $250 in combined available balances in Chase checking or savings accounts 1. Chase states that this is neither a requirement nor a guarantee of approval 1.
The yearly upgrade review has conditions: the Rise account must be open with a purchase in the past 12 months, all payments to all lenders must have been on time over the past 12 months, and no Chase account can be suspended 1. The 1.5% rate applies to all purchases, and Lyft purchases made in the Lyft app earn 2% total through 9/30/2027 1. Cash back is kept as points, has no redemption minimum and does not expire while the account is open, though Amazon Shop with Points values each point at $0.008 14.
The product page lists purchase protection for 120 days at up to $500 per item, extended warranty and trip cancellation up to $1,500 per traveler 1. Rental car coverage, roadside dispatch and travel assistance come from the shared Freedom Guide to Benefits, which names Freedom Rise: rental cover is secondary in the U.S. unless the renter has no personal auto insurance, and roadside help is pay-per-use 3.
