What to know about the Unlimited Cash Rewards

Every net purchase earns the same 1.5%, so there is no category to choose and nothing to activate 2. Returns and credits are subtracted from purchases, and balance transfers, cash advances, fees, interest charges and fraudulent transactions earn nothing 2.

Rewards can be redeemed as a statement credit, a deposit to an eligible Bank of America checking or savings account, credit to a Merrill Cash Management Account or 529 account, or toward purchases at Amazon.com or through PayPal 2. One-time statement credits and deposits have no minimum, while 529 contributions and automatic deposits require at least $25 2. Rewards stay available while the account remains open with active charging privileges; if the account is closed by the owner or for inactivity, rewards must be redeemed within 90 days, and closure for any other reason forfeits them at once 2.

Bank of America's relationship program, BofA Rewards, replaced Preferred Rewards on or about May 26, 2026 7. Enrolled members holding eligible cards get a bonus of 10% (Member), 25% (Preferred Plus), 50% (Preferred Honors) or 75% (Premier), applied after the card's base cash rewards are calculated 3. Membership needs an eligible Bank of America checking account, and the tiers depend on combined deposit and Merrill investment balances of no minimum, $30,000, $100,000 or $1,000,000 4.

Purchases made in a foreign currency carry a 3% fee 2. Beyond fraud protection and the FICO Score, the terms say only that benefit details accompany new account materials 2.
