What to know about the Double Cash

The second 1% is earned on payments, not purchases. Citi awards 1 point per $1 of eligible payments, but only up to the balance shown in the account's Purchase Tracker; payments must add up to at least the minimum payment due, and the account must be current to earn 2. Citi states there are no caps on the cash back earned and no categories to enroll in 1.

Points convert to cash back at 10,000 points for $100, paid by direct deposit, statement credit or check; other redemptions such as gift cards and travel vary in value 2. For Citi Travel bookings paid partly with points, only the portion charged to the card earns points, and cancelled bookings earn nothing 2.

Citi lists extended warranty as a card benefit, provided by New Hampshire Insurance Company, an AIG company, as secondary coverage, and refers cardmembers to the Guide to Protection Benefits for its terms and coverage limits 1. Citi's $0 Liability on Unauthorized Charges policy applies to the card 3. The FICO Score is free to view online and in the Citi Mobile App and is updated monthly 1. Foreign purchases carry a fee of 3% of the U.S. dollar amount of each purchase, and there is no fee for authorized users 1. Other listed features are Citi Merchant Offers, Mastercard ID Theft Protection and Citi Entertainment 1.
